CVSS v3.1 |
| Heap-based buffer overflow in Windows NTFS allows an authorized attacker to execute code locally. |
| OpenPrinting CUPS is an open source printing system for Linux and other Unix-like operating systems. In versions 2.4.16 and prior, there is a heap-based buffer overflow in the CUPS scheduler when building filter option strings from job attribute. At time of publication, there are no publicly available patches. |
| Out-of-bounds read in Microsoft Office Excel allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally. |
| Stack-based buffer overflow in Azure Connected Machine Agent allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| Integer underflow (wrap or wraparound) in Microsoft Office Excel allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally. |
| OpenPrinting CUPS is an open source printing system for Linux and other Unix-like operating systems. In versions 2.4.16 and prior, an integer underflow vulnerability in _ppdCreateFromIPP() (cups/ppd-cache.c) allows any unprivileged local user to crash the cupsd root process by supplying a negative job-password-supported IPP attribute. The bounds check only caps the upper bound, so a negative value passes validation, is cast to size_t (wrapping to ~2^64), and is used as the length argument to memset() on a 33-byte stack buffer. This causes an immediate SIGSEGV in the cupsd root process. Combined with systemd's Restart=on-failure, an attacker can repeat the crash for sustained denial of service. |
| Impact:
When using multiple wildcards, combined with at least one parameter, a regular expression can be generated that is vulnerable to ReDoS. This backtracking vulnerability requires the second wildcard to be somewhere other than the end of the path.
Unsafe examples:
/*foo-*bar-:baz
/*a-:b-*c-:d
/x/*a-:b/*c/y
Safe examples:
/*foo-:bar
/*foo-:bar-*baz
Patches:
Upgrade to version 8.4.0.
Workarounds:
If you are using multiple wildcard parameters, you can check the regex output with a tool such as https://makenowjust-labs.github.io/recheck/playground/ to confirm whether a path is vulnerable. |
| Impact:
A bad regular expression is generated any time you have three or more parameters within a single segment, separated by something that is not a period (.). For example, /:a-:b-:c or /:a-:b-:c-:d. The backtrack protection added in [email protected] only prevents ambiguity for two parameters. With three or more, the generated lookahead does not block single separator characters, so capture groups overlap and cause catastrophic backtracking.
Patches:
Upgrade to [email protected]
Custom regex patterns in route definitions (e.g., /:a-:b([^-/]+)-:c([^-/]+)) are not affected because they override the default capture group.
Workarounds:
All versions can be patched by providing a custom regular expression for parameters after the first in a single segment. As long as the custom regular expression does not match the text before the parameter, you will be safe. For example, change /:a-:b-:c to /:a-:b([^-/]+)-:c([^-/]+).
If paths cannot be rewritten and versions cannot be upgraded, another alternative is to limit the URL length. |
| SpotPaltalk 1.1.5 contains a denial of service vulnerability in the registration code input field that allows local attackers to crash the application by submitting an excessively long string. Attackers can paste a buffer of 1000 characters into the Name/Key field during registration to trigger a crash when the OK button is clicked. |
| Shenzhen Tenda W30E V2 firmware versions up to and including V16.01.0.19(5037) ship with a predefined default password for a built-in authentication account that is not required to be changed during initial configuration. An attacker can leverage these default credentials to gain authenticated access to the management interface. |
| Shenzhen Tenda W30E V2 firmware versions up to and including V16.01.0.19(5037) fail to include the X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff response header on web management interfaces. As a result, browsers that perform MIME sniffing may incorrectly interpret attacker-influenced responses as executable script. |
| alsa-lib versions 1.2.2 up to and including 1.2.15.2, prior to commit 5f7fe33, contain a heap-based buffer overflow in the topology mixer control decoder. The tplg_decode_control_mixer1() function reads the num_channels field from untrusted .tplg data and uses it as a loop bound without validating it against the fixed-size channel array (SND_TPLG_MAX_CHAN). A crafted topology file with an excessive num_channels value can cause out-of-bounds heap writes, leading to a crash. |
| In wlan, there is a possible out of bounds write due to a heap buffer overflow. This could lead to remote (proximal/adjacent) escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. Patch ID: WCNCR00461651; Issue ID: MSV-4758. |
| In imgsys, there is a possible out of bounds write due to a missing bounds check. This could lead to local escalation of privilege if a malicious actor has already obtained the System privilege. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. Patch ID: ALPS10362725; Issue ID: MSV-5694. |
| Pidgin 2.13.0 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows local attackers to crash the application by providing an excessively long username string during account creation. Attackers can input a buffer of 1000 characters in the username field and trigger a crash when joining a chat, causing the application to become unavailable. |
| A vulnerability has been identified in NX (All versions < V2512), NX (Managed Mode) (All versions < V2512). The affected application contains a data validation vulnerability that could allow an attacker with local access to interfere with internal data during the PDF export process that could potentially lead to arbitrary code execution. |
| DNG SDK versions 1.7.1 2410 and earlier are affected by an out-of-bounds read vulnerability that could lead to memory exposure. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to disclose sensitive information stored in memory. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. |
| DNG SDK versions 1.7.1 2410 and earlier are affected by an Integer Overflow or Wraparound vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. |
| DNG SDK versions 1.7.1 2410 and earlier are affected by an Integer Overflow or Wraparound vulnerability that could lead to application denial-of-service. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause the application to crash or become unresponsive. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. |
| Rack is a modular Ruby web server interface. Prior to versions 2.2.23, 3.1.21, and 3.2.6, Rack::Utils.select_best_encoding processes Accept-Encoding values with quadratic time complexity when the header contains many wildcard (*) entries. Because this method is used by Rack::Deflater to choose a response encoding, an unauthenticated attacker can send a single request with a crafted Accept-Encoding header and cause disproportionate CPU consumption on the compression middleware path. This results in a denial of service condition for applications using Rack::Deflater. This issue has been patched in versions 2.2.23, 3.1.21, and 3.2.6. |
