CVE-2026-98832 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: blk-cgroup: save IRQ state in blkg_tryget_closest() bio_set_dev() associates the bio with a blkg through bio_associate_blkg(). If the blkg lookup misses, blkg_tryget_closest() takes q->queue_lock with spin_lock_irq() and releases it with spin_unlock_irq(), which unconditionally enables local interrupts. Callers may call bio_set_dev() with interrupts already disabled, e.g. dm-thin's pool_map() does so while holding pool->lock taken with spin_lock_irq(). The nested spin_unlock_irq() then enables interrupts while pool->lock is still held, so an I/O completion softirq can run on the same CPU, re-acquire pool->lock (thin_endio(), or overwrite_endio() -> complete_mapping_preparation()) and deadlock. lockdep reports this as inconsistent SOFTIRQ-ON-W to IN-SOFTIRQ-W usage. Commit 3a762de55b4e ("block: save irq state in blkg_lookup_create()") fixed the same problem while the lock lived in blkg_lookup_create(), but commit 9327a865e395 ("blk-cgroup: don't nest queue_lock under rcu in blkg_lookup_create()") moved the locking into blkg_tryget_closest() and reverted it to spin_lock_irq(). Save and restore the caller's IRQ state instead.
CVE-2026-98854 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 4.1 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: of/overlay: only treat a positive changeset id as registered of_overlay_fdt_apply() stores the idr_alloc() return value in ovcs->id before checking it. On failure the stored id is negative, free_overlay_changeset()'s "if (ovcs->id)" check passes, idr_remove() is called with a negative id and list_del() runs on ovcs->ovcs_list, which is not initialized until after the id allocation. An allocation failure at that point dereferences NULL. Make free_overlay_changeset() treat only a strict-positive id as registered. The rest of the function already copes with a partially-initialized ovcs, so the error path stays a plain goto err_free_ovcs.
CVE-2026-98856 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 4.4 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: kprobes: Skip disarmed probes when checking optkprobe overlap On x86, an optkprobe at A replaces five bytes with a jump. If a disabled probe B is at A+2, get_optimized_kprobe() stops at B when arming a new probe C at A+4. It leaves A optimized: A A+1 A+2 A+3 A+4 A's jump | e9 | d0 | d1 | d2 | d3 | after C | e9 | d0 | d1 | d2 | cc | The INT3 for C overwrites the last byte of A's jump displacement, so execution can jump to the wrong address. B can have prepared optinsns while disarmed, but has no jump to unoptimize. Continue past disarmed and unprepared probes to find the active optimized probe before arming a probe in its jump.
CVE-2026-98093 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: fsl_micfil: balance mclk enable/disable hw_params() enables mclk unconditionally and hw_free() disables it unconditionally, but the PCM core does not guarantee 1:1 pairing: hw_free() can run without hw_params(), and hw_params() can be called multiple times from the SETUP state. This triggers an "already disabled" WARN() in the first case and leaks an enable reference in the second, leaving the clock ungateable. Guard both sides with the existing mclk_flag, as fsl_sai.c does with mclk_streams.
CVE-2023-7356 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: ISO: Copy BASE if service data matches EIR_BAA_SERVICE_UUID Copy the content of a Periodic Advertisement Report to BASE only if the service UUID is Basic Audio Announcement Service UUID.
CVE-2026-99034 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 2.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mmc: sdhci-sprd: disable runtime PM on remove sdhci_sprd_probe() enables runtime PM, while sdhci_sprd_remove() does not perform the corresponding runtime PM cleanup. The probe failure path disables runtime PM before disabling the clocks, but the normal remove path directly disables clocks that are also managed by the runtime PM callbacks. If the device is runtime suspended, those clocks may already be disabled. Resume the device before removal, disable runtime PM and drop the temporary runtime PM reference before disabling the clocks. This issue was found by manual code inspection.
CVE-2026-99085 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 4.1 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sched_ext: Fix CPU hotplug hang when a dying CPU's tasks sit in the BPF scheduler A CPU going down has to empty its own rq. Its hotplug thread waits in sched_cpu_wait_empty() until nothing else is left, and the only thing that wakes it is balance_push(), which runs from __schedule() on the dying CPU and pushes off the migratable tasks the CPU picks. sched_ext breaks this. A task sitting on a user DSQ or held by the BPF scheduler is still counted on its rq, but an inactive CPU no longer calls ops.dispatch() and can't pull the task back. The dying CPU goes idle with the task still counted, and one of two things happens: - Another CPU consumes the task. The rq empties without a __schedule() on the dying CPU, so the hotplug thread is never woken and cpu_down() hangs holding cpu_hotplug_lock. - The task is affine only to the dying CPU. Nothing can move it, and the offline stalls until the watchdog ejects the BPF scheduler. When the rq goes offline, re-enqueue every task on it that isn't already on the local DSQ. An enqueue on an offline rq lands on the local DSQ, so the dying CPU itself picks the tasks and balance_push() pushes them off, the same as for the other sched classes. From then on no sched_ext path on another CPU can pull a task off the rq. ops.dispatch() currently stops as soon as the CPU goes inactive, and CPU hotplug then waits for an RCU grace period before taking the rq offline. A BPF-held task affine only to the dying CPU and preempted inside an RCU read-side critical section would block that grace period, and the rq would never go offline. Test SCX_RQ_ONLINE directly so that ops.dispatch() keeps running until the rq goes offline. Only the dying CPU's own hotplug thread clears the flag during teardown, and task_can_run_on_remote_rq() still keeps other rqs' tasks off the CPU.
CVE-2026-99087 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 4.4 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dm-integrity: fix NULL pointer dereference when the 'R' flag is used If the dm-integrity device has the SB_FLAG_DIRTY_BITMAP flag set and the user activates the device in the 'R' mode, a crash in dm_integrity_resume happens because the function attempts to read the journal containing the bitmap. This patch makes dm-integrity skip any writes to the device in dm_integrity_resume if the device is activated in the 'R' mode.
CVE-2026-99037 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 4.4 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dm-crypt: reject the lmk IV mode with AEAD ciphers A "capi:" table line that pairs an AEAD cipher with the lmk IV mode, for example "capi:gcm(aes)-lmk" with the integrity:28:aead option, causes an oops when it is loaded. lmk sets tfms_count to 64, but crypt_alloc_tfms_aead only allocates one transform, so crypt_setkey reads past the end of the tfms_aead array and calls crypto_aead_setkey on the values it finds there. lmk exists for compatibility with Loop-AES, which uses CBC, so refuse it with an AEAD cipher rather than allocate 64 AEAD transforms. The check cannot go in crypt_iv_lmk_ctr with the other lmk checks, because the IV constructor runs after crypt_set_key. Note that this is not a security bug because the memory corruption can only be triggered by root.
CVE-2026-99040 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 2.5 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KEYS: Fix add_key() race with keyring restriction __key_create_or_update() snapshots keyring->restrict_link before taking the destination keyring's semaphore. keyring_restrict() installs a restriction while holding that semaphore. This allows a writer to observe no restriction, wait for the keyring owner to install a reject-all restriction and return successfully, and then link a key using the stale NULL snapshot. The writer only needs write permission on the destination keyring. Move the restrict_link read after __key_link_lock() and __key_link_begin(). The read and the subsequent restriction check are then serialized with restriction installation by keyring->sem. The race was reproduced on v7.2.8 in 19 executions where restriction installation returned before the link completed. All 19 linked the key despite the reject-all restriction. With this change, 312 executions reached the same ordering and every add_key() call failed with -EPERM. The issue was found by manual concurrency analysis assisted by AI-based analysis and independently verified with a QEMU reproducer and kernel instrumentation.
CVE-2026-99043 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 4.1 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ice: fix metadata_dst refcount handling on representor teardown ice_eswitch_release_repr() uses metadata_dst_free() to release the representor's metadata_dst. metadata_dst_free() directly frees the underlying memory without checking the dst_entry refcount. When ice_eswitch_port_start_xmit() processes a packet, it takes a reference via dst_hold() and attaches the metadata_dst to the skb. If the representor is torn down while packets are still queued on the lower device (e.g. in a qdisc), the metadata_dst is freed while references are still held. Use dst_release() instead, which correctly decrements the refcount and only frees the object when all references are dropped. The dst subsystem already handles metadata_dst cleanup in dst_destroy() when DST_METADATA is set. Other drivers sharing this pattern (nfp, airoha, bnxt) already use dst_release() for their metadata_dst lifecycle.
CVE-2026-99069 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: ati_remote2 - fix type confusion in device attribute handlers Previously, the channel_mask and mode_mask attributes were registered on the parent usb_device via sysfs_create_group(). When commit b20d6bf8014b ("Input: ati-remote2 - use driver core to instantiate device attributes") converted the driver to let the driver core manage them via dev_groups in struct usb_driver, the attributes moved to the bound usb_interface devices, but the show and store callbacks were not updated accordingly. As a result, the callbacks still invoked to_usb_device() on a device pointer belonging to a struct usb_interface, producing an invalid usb_device pointer. Use to_usb_interface() directly in the attribute handlers to obtain the interface and its driver data.
CVE-2026-99072 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv4: stop route notification sizing when nexthop group shrinks Commit 680aea08e78c ("net: ipv4: Emit notification when fib hardware flags are changed") added an RCU-only fib_nlmsg_size() call for asynchronous hardware flag notifications. fib_nlmsg_size() checks fib_info_num_path() before each iteration, then fib_info_nhc() independently reloads nh->nh_grp. If RTM_NEWNEXTHOP replaces a group with fewer paths between those loads, fib_info_nhc() returns NULL and fib_nexthop_nlmsg_size() dereferences it. Stop sizing when the indexed path is absent. Nexthop groups are dense, so the current snapshot has no later path.
CVE-2026-99076 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: udp: Create exceptions before socket matching Currently, when ICMPv6 Packet Too Big and Redirect Message packets are locally delivered and quote a UDP packet, an exception is only created in the IPv6 exception cache if the kernel can match the UDP packet to an existing socket. This behavior allows off-path attackers to conduct a side-channel attack on the exception cache in order to discover the ephemeral port used by a connected UDP socket. Commit 4785305c05b2 ("ipv6: use siphash in rt6_exception_hash()") and commit a00df2caffed ("ipv6: make exception cache less predictible") tried to mitigate such attacks by making it harder for attackers to discover hash collisions in the exception cache and by randomizing the number of exceptions a hash bucket can hold, respectively. Unfortunately, both of the mitigations can be bypassed. Instead, mitigate such attacks by always creating an exception, even before trying to find a matching socket. Do that by calling ip6_update_pmtu() and ip6_redirect(), the helpers used when the quoted packet did not originate from a socket. This means that guesses (right or wrong) from an off-path attacker will always result in an exception being created or updated in the cache that the attacker can observe. Pass the ifindex of the ingress device and the default uid, in a similar fashion to icmpv6_err(). Unlike IPv4, an oif of 0 would not match any nexthop in ip6_redirect_nh_match() and no exception would be created in response to a Redirect Message. Note that this does not allow attackers to create exceptions that they could not create before, as both helpers can already be reached with little to no validation. For example, by sending an ICMPv6 error that quotes an ICMPv6 Echo Reply or one that quotes a UDP source port that matches a wildcard socket. Also note that in the good case (matched socket) the above scheme comes at the cost of an extra route lookup, as the no socket helpers perform their own lookup before the one performed by ip6_sk_update_pmtu() / ip6_sk_redirect(). When the two resolve to different nexthops, it also results in two exceptions being created for the same destination IP. One in the exception cache of the nexthop resolved by the no socket helpers and another in the exception cache of the nexthop used by the socket.
CVE-2026-98094 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: fbtft: make dirty_lock IRQ-safe fbtft_mkdirty() can be reached from the fbcon rendering path while processing printk() in hardirq context. Meanwhile, dirty_lock is also taken by fbtft_deferred_io() in workqueue context with local interrupts enabled. Lockdep reports a possible IRQ lock inversion involving dirty_lock and console_owner. A hardirq can interrupt a CPU holding dirty_lock and enter the console rendering path, which can attempt to acquire dirty_lock again. The following lockdep report was observed on an RK3566 system with CONFIG_PROVE_LOCKING enabled: WARNING: possible irq lock inversion dependency detected swapper/2/0 just changed the state of lock: (console_owner){-...}-{0:0} but this lock took another, HARDIRQ-unsafe lock in the past: (&par->dirty_lock){+.+.}-{2:2} CPU0 CPU1 ---- ---- lock(&par->dirty_lock); local_irq_disable(); lock(console_owner); lock(&par->dirty_lock); <Interrupt> lock(console_owner); *** DEADLOCK *** Use spin_lock_irqsave() for fbtft_mkdirty() and spin_lock_irq() for fbtft_deferred_io(). They only access the dirty line range, so the IRQ-off regions remain short.
CVE-2026-99041 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ip6_gre: remove obsolete ERSPAN PMTU update A tc tunnel_key action can attach a METADATA_IP_TUNNEL dst to an skb, and mirred can redirect it to a native ip6erspan device. The legacy PMTU update in ip6erspan_tunnel_xmit() treats that metadata dst as a route. Since it has no output device, dst_dev(dst)->mtu dereferences NULL. On v7.2 with KASAN, an initial UID/GID 65534 process with CapEff 0 used self-created user and network namespaces to trigger: KASAN: null-ptr-deref RIP: ip6erspan_tunnel_xmit+0x10fc/0x2cc0 Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt The update is obsolete. Commit fe1a4ca0a2b7 ("ip6_gre: process toobig in a better way") changed IPv6 GRE Too Big handling to update the underlay route and removed the equivalent block from __gre6_xmit(). ip6_tnl_xmit() then propagates the underlay PMTU to the overlay route. Remove the stale ERSPAN copy and its now-unused dst variable. This eliminates the metadata-dst dereference and keeps ERSPAN aligned with IPv6 GRE PMTU handling.
CVE-2026-99057 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 2.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xen/netfront: don't leak the skb when xennet_fill_frags() fails When a response chain has more slots than fit in the skb's frags, xennet_fill_frags() returns an error and xennet_poll() jumps to its error path. That path moves what's left on tmpq to errq to be freed, but the skb being filled was already dequeued from tmpq, so it's never freed. Each chain that overflows leaks the skb and the pages attached to it as frags, and the backend decides how many slots it sends. Put the skb back on tmpq before taking the error path, like the xennet_set_skb_gso() failure just above it does.
CVE-2026-99058 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: workqueue: Fix NULL current_pwq deref in chained work check current_wq_worker() only tells us that %current is a kworker. It does not guarantee that the worker is currently executing a work item, as worker->current_pwq is populated only while process_one_work() is running the work function. is_chained_work() can be reached while queueing on a draining or destroying workqueue. If a kworker outside work-item execution reaches that path, current_wq_worker() returns a worker but worker->current_pwq is NULL, and the chained-work test can fault before it emits the intended warning. Guard the chained-work test with worker->current_pwq. A kworker without current_pwq is not executing work on the target workqueue, so the helper should return false and let the draining/destroying warning fire.
CVE-2026-99071 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv4: do not warn on route notification size race Commit 680aea08e78c ("net: ipv4: Emit notification when fib hardware flags are changed") added asynchronous route notifications for hardware flag changes. fib_alias_hw_flags_set() sizes the skb with fib_nlmsg_size() and later fills it with fib_dump_info() while holding only RCU. With nexthop compatibility mode enabled, a concurrent replacement can grow the group between these independent snapshots. fib_dump_info() can then legitimately return -EMSGSIZE, so the warning does not prove a sizing bug. Remove the warning. The existing error path still frees the skb and reports the error to listeners.
CVE-2026-98933 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: hub: use shorter 120ms post resume hold for SS root hubs Holding a USB3 hub PM runtime reference for 200ms at hub resume triggers an AMD platform issue. Users running Android adb report crashes after adb has been polling and waking up the USB subsystem once a second for some time. Vendors are working on a solution. Disabling USB runtime PM is one way to prevent this issue, but it is also proven that reducing the hold time to 120ms in resume also mitigates it. See Link for more details. Reducing the hold time to 120ms for the USB3 roothub is in itself a valid change and optimization, as the current 200ms is excessive: a root hub has no upstream suspended hub whose wake propagation needs to be accounted for, but still need some time for USB3 link training to complete. Keep the 200ms hold for external hubs that commit 8f5b7e2bec1c ("usb: hub: fix detection of high tier USB3 devices behind suspended hubs") is intended for.
