| Memory safety bug fixed in Firefox 152. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 152, Firefox ESR 140.12, Thunderbird 152, and Thunderbird 140.12. |
| Use after free in Digital Credentials in Google Chrome prior to 149.0.7827.155 allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Critical) |

| Use after free in WebShare in Google Chrome on Windows prior to 149.0.7827.155 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to potentially perform a sandbox escape via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Critical) |
| Use after free in Web Authentication in Google Chrome prior to 149.0.7827.155 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Critical) |
| Memory safety bugs present in Firefox 151 and Thunderbird 151. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 152 and Thunderbird 152. |

| A heap use-after-free existed when importing the blank-width characters of an ODF number format. A position value read from the document was not checked against the length of the format-code string, so a malformed number format could be processed against memory outside that string. In fixed versions the position is bounds-checked before use. |
| Memory safety bugs present in Firefox ESR 115.36, Firefox ESR 140.11, Thunderbird ESR 140.11, Firefox 151 and Thunderbird 151. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 152, Firefox ESR 140.12, Firefox ESR 115.37, Thunderbird 152, and Thunderbird 140.12. |
| Determined a bug and not a vulnerability |
| Determined not a vulnerability |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/sched: Enforce that teql can only be used as root qdisc
Design intent of teql is that it is only supposed to be used as root qdisc.
We need to check for that constraint.
Although not important, I will describe the scenario that unearthed this
issue for the curious.
GangMin Kim <[email protected]> managed to concot a scenario as follows:
ROOT qdisc 1:0 (QFQ)
├── class 1:1 (weight=15, lmax=16384) netem with delay 6.4s
└── class 1:2 (weight=1, lmax=1514) teql
GangMin sends a packet which is enqueued to 1:1 (netem).
Any invocation of dequeue by QFQ from this class will not return a packet
until after 6.4s. In the meantime, a second packet is sent and it lands on
1:2. teql's enqueue will return success and this will activate class 1:2.
Main issue is that teql only updates the parent visible qlen (sch->q.qlen)
at dequeue. Since QFQ will only call dequeue if peek succeeds (and teql's
peek always returns NULL), dequeue will never be called and thus the qlen
will remain as 0. With that in mind, when GangMin updates 1:2's lmax value,
the qfq_change_class calls qfq_deact_rm_from_agg. Since the child qdisc's
qlen was not incremented, qfq fails to deactivate the class, but still
frees its pointers from the aggregate. So when the first packet is
rescheduled after 6.4 seconds (netem's delay), a dangling pointer is
accessed causing GangMin's causing a UAF. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: caiaq: Handle probe errors properly
The probe procedure of setup_card() in caiaq driver doesn't treat the
error cases gracefully, e.g. the error from snd_card_register() calls
snd_card_free() but continues. This would lead to a UAF for the
further calls like snd_usb_caiaq_control_init(), as Berk suggested in
another patch in the link below.
However, the problem is not only that; in general, this function drops
the all error handlings (as it's a void function) although its caller
can propagate an error to snd_probe(), which eventually calls
snd_card_free() as a proper error path. That said, we should treat
each error case in setup_card(), and just return the error code
promptly, which is then handled later as a fatal error in snd_probe().
This patch achieves it by changing the setup_card() to return an error
code. Also, the superfluous snd_card_free() call is removed, too.
Note that card->private_free can be set still safely at returning an
error. All called functions in card_free() have checks of the
unassigned resources or NULL checks. |
