CVE-2022-42720 4 Debian, Fedoraproject, Linux and 1 more 6 Debian Linux, Fedora, Linux Kernel and 3 more 2025-05-15 7.8 High
Various refcounting bugs in the multi-BSS handling in the mac80211 stack in the Linux kernel 5.1 through 5.19.x before 5.19.16 could be used by local attackers (able to inject WLAN frames) to trigger use-after-free conditions to potentially execute code.
CVE-2022-41674 4 Debian, Fedoraproject, Linux and 1 more 6 Debian Linux, Fedora, Linux Kernel and 3 more 2025-05-15 8.1 High
An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel before 5.19.16. Attackers able to inject WLAN frames could cause a buffer overflow in the ieee80211_bss_info_update function in net/mac80211/scan.c.
CVE-2021-47304 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2025-05-12 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tcp: fix tcp_init_transfer() to not reset icsk_ca_initialized This commit fixes a bug (found by syzkaller) that could cause spurious double-initializations for congestion control modules, which could cause memory leaks or other problems for congestion control modules (like CDG) that allocate memory in their init functions. The buggy scenario constructed by syzkaller was something like: (1) create a TCP socket (2) initiate a TFO connect via sendto() (3) while socket is in TCP_SYN_SENT, call setsockopt(TCP_CONGESTION), which calls: tcp_set_congestion_control() -> tcp_reinit_congestion_control() -> tcp_init_congestion_control() (4) receive ACK, connection is established, call tcp_init_transfer(), set icsk_ca_initialized=0 (without first calling cc->release()), call tcp_init_congestion_control() again. Note that in this sequence tcp_init_congestion_control() is called twice without a cc->release() call in between. Thus, for CC modules that allocate memory in their init() function, e.g, CDG, a memory leak may occur. The syzkaller tool managed to find a reproducer that triggered such a leak in CDG. The bug was introduced when that commit 8919a9b31eb4 ("tcp: Only init congestion control if not initialized already") introduced icsk_ca_initialized and set icsk_ca_initialized to 0 in tcp_init_transfer(), missing the possibility for a sequence like the one above, where a process could call setsockopt(TCP_CONGESTION) in state TCP_SYN_SENT (i.e. after the connect() or TFO open sendmsg()), which would call tcp_init_congestion_control(). It did not intend to reset any initialization that the user had already explicitly made; it just missed the possibility of that particular sequence (which syzkaller managed to find).
CVE-2024-25744 2 Linux, Redhat 3 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Eus 2025-05-07 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel before 6.6.7, an untrusted VMM can trigger int80 syscall handling at any given point. This is related to arch/x86/coco/tdx/tdx.c and arch/x86/mm/mem_encrypt_amd.c.

CVE-2023-52490 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2025-05-07 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm: migrate: fix getting incorrect page mapping during page migration When running stress-ng testing, we found below kernel crash after a few hours: Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0000000000000000 pc : dentry_name+0xd8/0x224 lr : pointer+0x22c/0x370 sp : ffff800025f134c0 ...... After analyzing the vmcore, I found this issue is caused by page migration. The scenario is that, one thread is doing page migration, and we will use the target page's ->mapping field to save 'anon_vma' pointer between page unmap and page move, and now the target page is locked and refcount is 1. Currently, there is another stress-ng thread performing memory hotplug, attempting to offline the target page that is being migrated. It discovers that the refcount of this target page is 1, preventing the offline operation, thus proceeding to dump the page. However, page_mapping() of the target page may return an incorrect file mapping to crash the system in dump_mapping(), since the target page->mapping only saves 'anon_vma' pointer without setting PAGE_MAPPING_ANON flag. There are seveval ways to fix this issue: (1) Setting the PAGE_MAPPING_ANON flag for target page's ->mapping when saving 'anon_vma', but this can confuse PageAnon() for PFN walkers, since the target page has not built mappings yet. (2) Getting the page lock to call page_mapping() in __dump_page() to avoid crashing the system, however, there are still some PFN walkers that call page_mapping() without holding the page lock, such as compaction. (3) Using target page->private field to save the 'anon_vma' pointer and 2 bits page state, just as page->mapping records an anonymous page, which can remove the page_mapping() impact for PFN walkers and also seems a simple way. So I choose option 3 to fix this issue, and this can also fix other potential issues for PFN walkers, such as compaction.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: sony: Fix a potential memory leak in sony_probe() If an error occurs after a successful usb_alloc_urb() call, usb_free_urb() should be called.
CVE-2024-36926 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2025-05-07 6.2 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: powerpc/pseries/iommu: LPAR panics during boot up with a frozen PE At the time of LPAR boot up, partition firmware provides Open Firmware property ibm,dma-window for the PE. This property is provided on the PCI bus the PE is attached to. There are execptions where the partition firmware might not provide this property for the PE at the time of LPAR boot up. One of the scenario is where the firmware has frozen the PE due to some error condition. This PE is frozen for 24 hours or unless the whole system is reinitialized. Within this time frame, if the LPAR is booted, the frozen PE will be presented to the LPAR but ibm,dma-window property could be missing. Today, under these circumstances, the LPAR oopses with NULL pointer dereference, when configuring the PCI bus the PE is attached to. CVE-2021-47293 2 Linux, Redhat 4 Linux Kernel, Rhel Aus, Rhel E4s and 1 more 2025-05-07 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: act_skbmod: Skip non-Ethernet packets Currently tcf_skbmod_act() assumes that packets use Ethernet as their L2 protocol, which is not always the case. As an example, for CAN devices: $ ip link add dev vcan0 type vcan $ ip link set up vcan0 $ tc qdisc add dev vcan0 root handle 1: htb $ tc filter add dev vcan0 parent 1: protocol ip prio 10 \ matchall action skbmod swap mac Doing the above silently corrupts all the packets. Do not perform skbmod actions for non-Ethernet packets.
