In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ubi: Fix possible null-ptr-deref in ubi_free_volume() It willl cause null-ptr-deref in the following case: uif_init() ubi_add_volume() cdev_add() -> if it fails, call kill_volumes() device_register() kill_volumes() -> if ubi_add_volume() fails call this function ubi_free_volume() cdev_del() device_unregister() -> trying to delete a not added device, it causes null-ptr-deref So in ubi_free_volume(), it delete devices whether they are added or not, it will causes null-ptr-deref. Handle the error case whlie calling ubi_add_volume() to fix this problem. If add volume fails, set the corresponding vol to null, so it can not be accessed in kill_volumes() and release the resource in ubi_add_volume() error path.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath9k: hif_usb: fix memory leak of urbs in ath9k_hif_usb_dealloc_tx_urbs() Syzkaller reports a long-known leak of urbs in ath9k_hif_usb_dealloc_tx_urbs(). The cause of the leak is that usb_get_urb() is called but usb_free_urb() (or usb_put_urb()) is not called inside usb_kill_urb() as urb->dev or urb->ep fields have not been initialized and usb_kill_urb() returns immediately. The patch removes trying to kill urbs located in hif_dev->tx.tx_buf because hif_dev->tx.tx_buf is not supposed to contain urbs which are in pending state (the pending urbs are stored in hif_dev->tx.tx_pending). The tx.tx_lock is acquired so there should not be any changes in the list. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with Syzkaller.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mmc: mxcmmc: fix return value check of mmc_add_host() mmc_add_host() may return error, if we ignore its return value, the memory that allocated in mmc_alloc_host() will be leaked and it will lead a kernel crash because of deleting not added device in the remove path. So fix this by checking the return value and goto error path which will call mmc_free_host().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs/ntfs3: Initialize allocated memory before use KMSAN reports: Multiple uninitialized values detected: - KMSAN: uninit-value in ntfs_read_hdr (3) - KMSAN: uninit-value in bcmp (3) Memory is allocated by __getname(), which is a wrapper for kmem_cache_alloc(). This memory is used before being properly cleared. Change kmem_cache_alloc() to kmem_cache_zalloc() to properly allocate and clear memory before use.

This value comes from the user via sysfs.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipmi:ssif: Fix a memory leak when scanning for an adapter The adapter scan ssif_info_find() sets info->adapter_name if the adapter info came from SMBIOS, as it's not set in that case. However, this function can be called more than once, and it will leak the adapter name if it had already been set. So check for NULL before setting it.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: qedi: Fix use after free bug in qedi_remove() In qedi_probe() we call __qedi_probe() which initializes &qedi->recovery_work with qedi_recovery_handler() and &qedi->board_disable_work with qedi_board_disable_work(). When qedi_schedule_recovery_handler() is called, schedule_delayed_work() will finally start the work. In qedi_remove(), which is called to remove the driver, the following sequence may be observed: Fix this by finishing the work before cleanup in qedi_remove(). In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mptcp: fix NULL pointer dereference on fastopen early fallback In case of early fallback to TCP, subflow_syn_recv_sock() deletes the subflow context before returning the newly allocated sock to the caller. The fastopen path does not cope with the above unconditionally dereferencing the subflow context.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: fix pci device refcount leak As comment of pci_get_domain_bus_and_slot() says, it returns a pci device with refcount increment, when finish using it, the caller must decrement the reference count by calling pci_dev_put(). So before returning from amdgpu_device_resume|suspend_display_audio(), pci_dev_put() is called to avoid refcount leak.

It is because the error handling in vidtv_bridge_dvb_init() is wrong. First, vidtv_bridge_dmx(dev)_init() will clean themselves when fail, but goto fail_dmx(_dev): calls release functions again, which causes use-after-free. Also, in fail_fe, fail_tuner_probe and fail_demod_probe, j = i will cause out-of-bound when i finished its loop (i == NUM_FE). And the loop releasing is wrong, although now NUM_FE is 1 so it won't cause problem. Fix this by correctly releasing everything.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: soundwire: fix enumeration completion The soundwire subsystem uses two completion structures that allow drivers to wait for soundwire device to become enumerated on the bus and initialised by their drivers, respectively. The code implementing the signalling is currently broken as it does not signal all current and future waiters and also uses the wrong reinitialisation function, which can potentially lead to memory corruption if there are still waiters on the queue. Not signalling future waiters specifically breaks sound card probe deferrals as codec drivers can not tell that the soundwire device is already attached when being reprobed. Some codec runtime PM implementations suffer from similar problems as waiting for enumeration during resume can also timeout despite the device already having been enumerated.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/dcssblk: fix kernel crash with list_add corruption Commit fb08a1908cb1 ("dax: simplify the dax_device <-> gendisk association") introduced new logic for gendisk association, requiring drivers to explicitly call dax_add_host() and dax_remove_host(). For dcssblk driver, some dax_remove_host() calls were missing, e.g. in device remove path. The commit also broke error handling for out_dax case in device add path, resulting in an extra put_device() w/o the previous get_device() in that case. This lead to stale xarray entries after device add / remove cycles. In the case when a previously used struct gendisk pointer (xarray index) would be used again, because blk_alloc_disk() happened to return such a pointer, the xa_insert() in dax_add_host() would fail and go to out_dax, doing the extra put_device() in the error path. In combination with an already flawed error handling in dcssblk (device_register() cleanup), which needs to be addressed in a separate patch, this resulted in a missing device_del() / klist_del(), and eventually in the kernel crash with list_add corruption on a subsequent device_add() / klist_add(). Fix this by adding the missing dax_remove_host() calls, and also move the put_device() in the error path to restore the previous logic.
