CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: nft_tunnel: fix use-after-free on object destroy
nft_tunnel_obj_destroy() calls metadata_dst_free() which directly
kfree()s the metadata_dst, ignoring the dst_entry refcount. Packets
that took a reference via dst_hold() in nft_tunnel_obj_eval() and
are still queued (e.g. in a netem qdisc) are left with a dangling
pointer. When these packets are eventually dequeued, dst_release()
operates on freed memory.
Replace metadata_dst_free() with dst_release() so the metadata_dst
is freed only after all references are dropped. The dst subsystem
already handles metadata_dst cleanup in dst_destroy() when
DST_METADATA is set. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: fix use-after-free of a deferred file_lock on double SMB2_CANCEL
A deferred byte-range lock (an SMB2_LOCK that blocks) registers an async work on
conn->async_requests via setup_async_work(), with cancel_fn =
smb2_remove_blocked_lock and cancel_argv[0] pointing at the struct file_lock.
When the request is cancelled, the worker frees the file_lock with
locks_free_lock() and takes the cancelled early-exit, which "goto out"s and never
reaches release_async_work() -- the only site that unlinks the work from
conn->async_requests and clears cancel_fn/cancel_argv. The work therefore stays
matchable on async_requests with a live cancel_fn pointing at the freed file_lock,
until connection teardown finally runs release_async_work().
smb2_cancel() fires cancel_fn unconditionally with no state guard, so a second
SMB2_CANCEL for the same AsyncId, arriving in that window, re-runs
smb2_remove_blocked_lock() on the freed file_lock -- a slab use-after-free:
BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in __locks_delete_block
__locks_delete_block
locks_delete_block
ksmbd_vfs_posix_lock_unblock
smb2_remove_blocked_lock
smb2_cancel <- 2nd SMB2_CANCEL fires cancel_fn
handle_ksmbd_work
Allocated by ...: locks_alloc_lock <- smb2_lock
Freed by ...: locks_free_lock <- smb2_lock (cancelled branch)
... cache file_lock_cache of size 192
Reproduced on mainline with KASAN by an authenticated SMB client.
Skip a work whose state is already KSMBD_WORK_CANCELLED so its cancel callback
cannot be fired a second time. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: bcmasp: fix double free of WoL irq
We do not need to free wol_irq since it was instantiated with
devm_request_irq(). So devres will free for us. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
spi: meson-spicc: Fix double-put in remove path
meson_spicc_probe() registers the controller with
devm_spi_register_controller(), so teardown already drops the
controller reference via devm cleanup.
Calling spi_controller_put() again in meson_spicc_remove()
causes a double-put. |
| A flaw was found in nano. A local user could exploit a format string vulnerability in the `statusline()` function. By creating a directory with a name containing `printf` specifiers, the application attempts to display this name, leading to a segmentation fault (SEGV). This results in a Denial of Service (DoS) for the `nano` application. |
| Successful exploitation of the
string injection vulnerability could allow an attacker to obtain memory address
information or crash the application. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb: client: avoid double-free in smbd_free_send_io() after smbd_send_batch_flush()
smbd_send_batch_flush() already calls smbd_free_send_io(),
so we should not call it again after smbd_post_send()
moved it to the batch list. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb: server: avoid double-free in smb_direct_free_sendmsg after smb_direct_flush_send_list()
smb_direct_flush_send_list() already calls smb_direct_free_sendmsg(),
so we should not call it again after post_sendmsg()
moved it to the batch list. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
xfrm: iptfs: only publish mode_data after clone setup
iptfs_clone_state() stores x->mode_data before allocating the reorder
window. If that allocation fails, the code frees the cloned state and
returns -ENOMEM, leaving x->mode_data pointing at freed memory.
The xfrm clone unwind later runs destroy_state() through x->mode_data,
so the failed clone path tears down IPTFS state that clone_state()
already freed.
Keep the cloned IPTFS state private until all allocations succeed so
failed clones leave x->mode_data unset. The destroy path already
handles a NULL mode_data pointer. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: mac80211: always free skb on ieee80211_tx_prepare_skb() failure
ieee80211_tx_prepare_skb() has three error paths, but only two of them
free the skb. The first error path (ieee80211_tx_prepare() returning
TX_DROP) does not free it, while invoke_tx_handlers() failure and the
fragmentation check both do.
Add kfree_skb() to the first error path so all three are consistent,
and remove the now-redundant frees in callers (ath9k, mt76,
mac80211_hwsim) to avoid double-free.
Document the skb ownership guarantee in the function's kdoc. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
pinctrl: cirrus: cs42l43: Fix double-put in cs42l43_pin_probe()
devm_add_action_or_reset() already invokes the action on failure,
so the explicit put causes a double-put. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
apparmor: Fix double free of ns_name in aa_replace_profiles()
if ns_name is NULL after
1071 error = aa_unpack(udata, &lh, &ns_name);
and if ent->ns_name contains an ns_name in
1089 } else if (ent->ns_name) {
then ns_name is assigned the ent->ns_name
1095 ns_name = ent->ns_name;
however ent->ns_name is freed at
1262 aa_load_ent_free(ent);
and then again when freeing ns_name at
1270 kfree(ns_name);
Fix this by NULLing out ent->ns_name after it is transferred to ns_name

| Issue summary: An uncommon configuration of clients performing DANE TLSA-based
server authentication, when paired with uncommon server DANE TLSA records, may
result in a use-after-free and/or double-free on the client side.
Impact summary: A use after free can have a range of potential consequences
such as the corruption of valid data, crashes or execution of arbitrary code.
However, the issue only affects clients that make use of TLSA records with both
the PKIX-TA(0/PKIX-EE(1) certificate usages and the DANE-TA(2) certificate
usage.
By far the most common deployment of DANE is in SMTP MTAs for which RFC7672
recommends that clients treat as 'unusable' any TLSA records that have the PKIX
certificate usages. These SMTP (or other similar) clients are not vulnerable
to this issue. Conversely, any clients that support only the PKIX usages, and
ignore the DANE-TA(2) usage are also not vulnerable.
The client would also need to be communicating with a server that publishes a
TLSA RRset with both types of TLSA records.
No FIPS modules are affected by this issue, the problem code is outside the
FIPS module boundary. |
| Format string vulnerability in the logging function in IBM solidDB 06.00.1018 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via format string specifiers in the (1) user name, (2) peer name, and possibly unspecified other fields. |
| Format string vulnerability in XM Easy Personal FTP Server 5.2.1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via format string specifiers in the USER command or certain other available or nonexistent commands. NOTE: It was later reported that 5.3.0 is also vulnerable. |
| Format string vulnerability in webmail.exe in NetWin SurgeMail 38k4 and earlier and beta 39a, and WebMail 3.1s and earlier, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via format string specifiers in the page parameter. |
| Multiple format string vulnerabilities in lib/silcclient/client_entry.c in Secure Internet Live Conferencing (SILC) Toolkit before 1.1.10, and SILC Client before 1.1.8, allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via format string specifiers in a nickname field, related to the (1) silc_client_add_client, (2) silc_client_update_client, and (3) silc_client_nickname_format functions. |
| Format string vulnerability in the finger client in HP TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS 5.x allows local users to gain privileges via format string specifiers in a (1) .plan or (2) .project file. |
| The multiplayer engine in Wesnoth 1.2.x before 1.2.7 and 1.3.x before 1.3.9 allows remote servers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a long message with multibyte characters that can produce an invalid UTF-8 string after it is truncated, which triggers an uncaught exception, involving the truncate_message function in server/server.cpp. NOTE: this issue affects both clients and servers. |
| Format string vulnerability in the embedded Internet Explorer component for Mirabilis ICQ 6 build 6043 allows remote servers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (crash) via unspecified vectors related to HTML code generation. |
